Process – JP Morgan conducted an aptitude test (MCQ on probability, calculus, maths, and coding) followed by two interviews (both technical)

Interview Questions

Round 1

Q1) Walk me through your cv

Q2) Tell me about one interesting project you have done

Answer: Told my ongoing project on machine learning

Follow up:

  1. Explain lasso and ridge regression. Why are they used?
  2. What is F1 score? Why is it used?
  3. Explain the F-theta score?
  4. What is Gibbs sampling? Explain
  5. Tell me two examples where we can use precision and recall.

Q3) There is a long line of people waiting outside a theatre to buy tickets. The theatre owner comes out and announces that the first person to have a birthday same as someone standing anywhere before him in the line gets a free ticket. Where will you stand to maximize your chance?

I asked for feedback. The interviewer said I had an excellent cv and that my interview went very well.

Within 5 minutes, I was called for the next round.

Round 2

Q1) Walk me through your cv

Q2) Explain your internship project

Follow up: explain stress testing, the assumptions of regression

Q3) Do you have a course on finance? (I said no)

Q4) What would I come to hear if I ask your friends and family about you?

I asked for feedback. They said they were impressed with me. They were very comfortable and were hoping to see me soon. That is how my JP Morgan interview ended.
