Eli Lilly Interview Questions by Sourav Biswas, IITB
Position – Full-time Job
Profile – Associate Manager (Applied Statistics Scientist)
Process – 2 case study rounds followed by an interview
Overview of the Process
Round 1 and 2 (Case Study)
A case study was assigned to us based on the stock market. The case study had specific data-driven questions and it had three parts.
We were asked to solve the questions and give detailed reasoning why we approached the way we did. We had almost a day to solve the problems. Initially, based on the performance they shortlisted some students. Then, they asked them to try to complete the rest of the unsolved questions on the dataset with some extended time for round 2.
Round 3 (Interview)
It was a mixture of a normal technical interview and an HR round. Firstly, their main focus was my projects and internships. They were interested in various biostatistical models and when is the appropriate time to use them. In the next part, they were going through my case study and my approach. They thoroughly checked how I solved the questions.
Then, they wanted to test my understanding of statistics, starting from regression and ending in inference. In the last 10 minutes, they asked me what I know about the company and why I am interested in the domain. They also asked what I can do to stand apart from the crowd. This round was very friendly, and their aim was to understand my thought process and understanding of the domain.
